July 2, 2011 - The play is pulling in some great reviews as well as some fun articles. Spacey fan Vivienne pointed me to some interesting things.

Richard III, Old Vic, review

Richard III- Kevin Spacey, the king with the common touch

Pictures from the play

July 1, 2011 - No text, just a nice picture.

June 29, 2011 - Wow. Now it's been 2 years since I updated last! Kevin is now in a production of Richard III, through September 11. If you're going to be in London, grab some tickets now.

June 5, 2009 - Hmm. Seems to have been a while since I updated this page! Is it too late to mention everything that happened since he did Speed the Plow? In that case, I'll just say that Kevin is slated to return to the stage of the Old Vic Theatre in a production of Inherit The Wind. According to their schedule the play starts previews September 18 and goes through December 20. The production is to be directed by Trevor Nunn.

Great news! I've finally added a page for reviews and opinions and stage door stories by fans! Uh, bad news is, I haven't had time to add those things to the page. But any day now. I promise! Here's where it will be when it's there: PLOW fans

Thank you to the fans who have sent me things, only to have to wait and wait for them to appear.

February 12, 2008

I've added a new page to the Speed-The-Plow section. It is for stage door photos. Spacey fan Marie has generously shared one of her pictures with us. I'm going to leave it sized as is until there are more and I have to go to thumbnails. I'll be starting the page for fan recollections and reviews in a few days.

February 4, 2008

Speed-The-Plow started previews on Friday evening. The play runs through April 26th.

The play will have a brief run at the Ruhr festival in Recklinghausen, Germany from May 3 - May 11. Thanks to Erika for that information.

From an Old Vic email press item - John Osborne’s The Entertainer premiered at the Royal Court on 10 April 1957. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, actors Robert Lindsay and Pam Ferris, and director, Sean Holmes, will discuss the play’s history and The Old Vic’s current production, with theatre critic, Michael Coveney.

Tickets are £5 and include a free glass of Mouton Cadet wine. Please call 0870 060 6628 to book your place.

I have a new page for the news updates for the Broadway production of A Moon For The Misbegotten. You can find it here.

The current production at the Old Vic stars Spacey look alike Robert Lindsay. American audiences will know him from the TV show "My Family" on BBC America, his mystery series on PBS and his co-starring role in the Hornblower movies on A&E. I know what you were all thinking. That this is what Kevin's brother must look like.

December 31, 2006

Wow! I had no idea it had been so long since I updated this news page. Just wanted to say that I haven't read anything yet about when the tickets for Moon at the BAT will be on sale. I *have* come up with an idea for a sure fire money-maker for the production though.

T-shirts, key rings, caps, mugs and posters that say "I was mooned at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre!"

Catchy, huh?

November 22, 2006

Many sources are reporting that starting on March 29, 2007, A Moon for the Misbegotten will begin preview performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in New York City. The play officially starts on April 9. Kevin, Eve Best and Colm Meaney will reprise their roles.

Old Vic Video Blog #5 is making it's appearance at the link above. You can also find all five videos on the Old Vic's own site now. You can find the link here or you can go directly here.

November 13, 2006

The fantastic news is it is looking like there's a very good chance that Moon will be heading for New York City by March. The not so good news is it looks like those horribly uncomfortable seats at the BAT may be awaiting Kevin's devoted fans again. Maybe this time they'll have Inflatable Cushion Night the way they do at ballgames. And really, this time they need to have small souvenirs like Moon keychains and postcards or something. Carrying that windowcard all over the place wasn't very practical. I'll add more suggestions as they come to me.

Congratulations to Kevin Spacey for being nominated in the Best Actor category of the Evening Standard Theatre Awards.

Kevin did an interview on BBC Radio 4 yesterday. You can listen to it here:

There's a new fan review on the Moon fan reviews page. Thanks to Cynthia.

October 9, 2006

Spacey fan "Fan" has sent me some of her thoughts about the play which she made note of in her journal. You can find them here. She's also sharing some of her stage door pictures with us. Big thanks to Fan.

October 8, 2006

Anyone know where the picture above came from? It must be new. Is it my imagination or does Kevin look a teensy bit like John Nettles?

There's another video interview at the BBC site. Link

October 6, 2006

One of the fans was asking me what time someone needs to get to the theater when they have tickets to a matinee. If anyone's been to a matinee performance, would you drop me a line and tell me how early I should tell her she needs to be there? Email link is on the entrance page, or you can use the feedback link on the Map page. *Thank you. I've forwarded the information.

October 5, 2006

Kevin and the cast of A Moon For The Misbegotten are enjoying some fantastic reviews. I will try to post a few at the weekend. In the mean time, Spacey fan Vivienne tells me she saw Kevin on TV earlier in the week. You can watch the interview at the BBC site. The link for the video is at the bottom of the page.

September 21, 2006

Spacey fan Simone is sharing with us her Old Vic adventure from last week. Enjoy. You can find it on the new Fan Reviews page for "Moon". As always, be aware of possible plot spoilers in any review.

As you can see above, I've added links to lastminuteliving.com's Old Vic video blog and the main "Moon" section of this site. I'll hopefully be adding more pictures and reviews sent by fans very, very soon.

I sure hope Moon makes it's way to New York next summer. I haven't seen Kevin Spacey in a play since 1999!

September 1, 2006

Now that Moon is close to opening, I guess I'd better get to work on finishing last season's production sections on the site.

August 28, 2006

I haven't updated the Old Vic News page since the middle of June?? And here we're just a few weeks away from Kevin's latest venture, A Moon for the Misbegotten. The cast for the play now includes Eve Best, Colm Meaney, Billy Carter and Eugne O'Hare.

And now for a bit of description snippage snipped off the Old Vic web site:

<snip>

Josie (Best), a towering woman with a quick tongue and a ruined reputation lives in a dilapidated Connecticut farmhouse with her conniving father, Phil Hogan (Meaney). Together they're a formidable force as they scrape together a livelihood. But Josie's softer side is exposed through her love of Jim Tyrone (Spacey), Hogan's landlord and drinking buddy - a third-rate actor whose dreams of stardom were washed away by alcohol.

<snip>

I sure hope the play makes it's way to New York. It's been over 7 years since I was lucky enough to see him in a play.

Slightly old news - Eve Best will be Kevin's co-star in Moon.

June 3, 2006

Some of you may recall me mentioning my friend Chris. Back in 1999, he waited patiently with my mother at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre stage door in New York City, to get Kevin's autograph on my Hopper cover (A Bug's Life VHS with Hopper on the cover) while my sister and I were inside the theater seeing The Iceman Cometh. Then a few years ago he was visiting his uncle in London and I asked him to go to the Old Vic and take a few pictures but he claimed that he couldn't find it and that his uncle who has lived in London for more than twenty years had never heard of it.

He just returned from a trip to London and this time managed to find the theater and took some pictures. I've changed the photo on the Old Vic section main page, link above, to one of the pictures, and changed the picture on the new Season Three section to his photo of the outside of the theater with Kevin's next play in the poster cases on the front of the building. If it works, you can click on the left poster case and get a picture of the case taken by itself. I'll add a few more of his pictures another day. Big thanks to Chris!

I *think* I fixed the hotspot over the photo of Kevin outside the theater.

May 9, 2006

The Old Vic announced their next 3 seasons today. I'll add a schedule rundown later but for now you can read about it all here.

April 13, 2006

Kevin has a new interview with the Guardian.

'I knew we'd be put under a microscope'

Kevin Spacey has been under attack ever since he took over as artistic director of the Old Vic theatre. With his latest play closing early after being savaged by the critics, he tells Michael Billington that the audiences love what he does - but the media is out to get him.

That must be in response to the articles such as those in Playbill.

Resurrection Blues is closing a week earlier than originally planned so if you wanted to see it, now's the time to go. According to the Sunday Times, there likely won't be another play at the Old Vic until Kevin does A Moon For The Misbegotten in September.

There's a rumor going around that Moon for the Misbegotten may be going to NYC as early as January 2007, with a brief stop in Washington, DC first. But so far I haven't had any response to my query from the Old Vic Theatre.

Has anyone gone to see Resurrection Blues?

February 5, 2006

I've had to temporarily remove the fan reviews form.

January 19, 2006

No Olivier award nominations for the Old Vic this year. Maybe next time.

I don't often mention ebay auctions but one of the Jennifer Ehle fans has alerted me to an auction for an autographed program from The Philadelphia Story that is being auctioned off by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. It has been signed by the cast, including Kevin Spacey.
