September 8, 2015 - Wow! I had no idea I hadn't updated the site since April.

Kevin is going to be on Week 2 of the new Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Wednesday night, September 16, 2015. CBS network, of course.

Cute picture of Kevin in the Style section of the Washington Post this morning which is where I found the bit about the Late Show.

Here is your chance to win an evening with Kevin Spacey! And Cal Ripkin, Jr. if you'd like to talk some baseball too.

April 25, 2015 Kevin is going to be on the Jimmy Kimmel show on Monday night, April 27th, and on Ellen on Tuesday, April 28th. Check your local listing for exact times in your area. And then check YouTube the next day!

I came across something I hadn't been aware of before now. Kevin is one of many narrators in a documentary called Unity that will be in "select" theaters in August. I have included a link to their website if you want to take a look and see what it's about.

Also there is an interesting article with some great pictures (I had no idea Chris Matthews was so tall) in Washingtonian. Thanks to Kristen.

Spacey article in Washingtonian

He's also going to be a voice in an animated movie by Dreamworks called Boss Baby. Not released until 2017 though.

I read on Kevin's own web site that he might record an album now that he's finished his time at the Old Vic. Can't wait for that if it happens!

For years fans have been writing to Kevin in care of the Old Vic and now that he's leaving (already left?) I've been asked where to write to him now. I don't have a clue. Maybe someone who knows will pass that info along. I'll be sure to post that if I ever hear anything.

April 14, 2015 Sorry I haven't updated in quite a while. My father had 2 serious falls over the winter and spent the majority of the past two and a half months in the hospital. The first fall left him with broken ribs and a blood clot and the second fall left him with a broken hip, a stint at a rehab clinic to learn to walk again after the surgery followed by about a week and a half at home before he became extremely ill with an infection that ended with him hospitalized for 3 weeks. He's been home since Saturday and now is trying to get well, regain his strength and is learning to walk and take care of himself again.

So I missed every one of Kevin's television appearances, all the news about Darrow at the Old Vic and everything in between.

However, if you have the time and the money there are a few things of interest.

April 19 at the Old Vic Theatre in London, they are sending Kevin off in style. You can buy tickets! But they are pricey.

A Gale Celebration In Honor Of Kevin Spacey

Then on July 18 Kevin will be doing a live concert of smooth jazz standards at Weill Hall and Lawn at Sonoma State University. You can buy tickets which are much less than the Old Vic tickets and you can get more information here:

And on July 19 Kevin will be the headliner at the Napa Valley Festival del Sole. More info here:

Kevin in Napa

November 6, 2014 I've been reading that Kevin is going to be filming a movie based on the meeting between Richard Nixon and Elvis Presley at the White House. I'm not sure which would have been more alarming. That Kevin would be Nixon or that Kevin would be Elvis. He is going to be Nixon from what I read so far. Interesting.

October 18, 2014 I never expected to see Kevin's name and picture in an article about Ebola. President Obama appointed someone to oversee the current health issues in the US concerning the virus and that someone was portrayed by Kevin in the film Recount.

Now that I have finished a shawl and a lovely scarf (don't tell my sister, the scarf is for her birthday) I am trying scrumbling!

Kevin's fundraiser was a big hit by all accounts, btw. Also btw, this program I use for the site is no longer supported by Microsoft using Windows 8.1 and while I'm able to use it using 8.0, my computer is trying to automatically upgrade. This could be interesting. The site will be 14 years old in another week (so hard to believe) and I was really aiming for the big 1-5 next year. I'm planning to add a countdown clock for that so Microsoft better not screw things up!

August 29, 2014 According to the Shakespeare Theatre site linked to below, the $104 tickets have all been sold but there are still VIP tickets available. They say that more tickets are to be released for sale but to contact to receive future updates.

On the 27th you could buy tickets online. On the 28th you had to call the theater or email for ticket availability and now today they say to just email. That kind of sounds to me as if this thing is going to be sold out. The KS Foundation site has removed the "Buy Ticket" link, btw.

August 26, 2014 Kevin did not win an Emmy last night for his role in House of Cards but he was wearing quite a tux. You don't normally see tails at the Emmy's.

If you have the evening free, Kevin will be performing a concert on September 29, 2014 to benefit the Kevin Spacey Foundation and Youth Arts Programs. It will be at the Shakespeare Theatre, Harman Hall at the Harman Center for the Performing Arts. Spacey fan Laura has checked pricing and the ticket for just the concert is $104. Sponsor levels offer much, much more such as a pre-concert reception and after-party. Concert starts at 7pm and runs approximately 90 minutes. For more information and tickets:

I was fortunate enough to see Kevin in concert in Atlantic City when he did a tour singing Bobby Darin classics when Beyond The Sea was in theaters and he is great in person.

I'm still plugging away taking crochet lessons at Craftsy only now I'm learning how to make hats. I still haven't mailed Kevin's birthday card. I wonder if he'd like a crocheted earflap hat to go with it?

August 3, 2014 I haven't updated since May??? That would mean for the first time in YEARS I did not get the annual birthday greeting to Kevin from the fans at DMS on to the site. Or in the mail. I am ashamed. But in my own defense, just before his birthday, my father who has been battling cancer for the past few years ended up in the hospital unexpectedly. He is doing much better now and has been back home since last week. Then later in the week last week my mother wasn't feeling well and it turns out the pharmacy put the wrong pills in the bottle and she had been taking the wrong medication for 3 days before the mistake was discovered and she was having side effects but she is also now feeling much better.

And can you believe that the Spacey birthday I missed was for his 55th! Good grief that means he will be 60 in 5 years. Wow. He was still a very young soon to be 40 when I saw him in The Iceman Cometh in NYC. How is it he has aged but I have not? Funny how that works.

I must confess that since I missed Kevin's birthday I also missed the birthday he shares with his #1 fan, the great KevieBear. I didn't even wish the bear a happy birthday on Facebook because I knew I was in big trouble.

I won't bother to update the Spacey news at this point because I am so far behind but you can always Google him or something. There was something about PETA being on his case about the chance to have a meal with him at a barbecue place in Maryland while filming House of Cards but I think that's being ignored by him.

I have been trying to calm my nerves these days by taking up crocheting again. I have taken a few classes on Craftsy that were a lot of fun and I learned a lot. So far I have made a baby cardigan which was the first time I made something that wasn't a scarf or a hat that somehow turned into a oversized tote. That was a great class taught by Linda Permann. I also took a class by Kim Werker that was teaching granny squares which for some reason I have never been able to get the hang of but now am finally getting there. These classes inspired me to throw my crochet inhibitions to the wind and try some new things so for the past few days I have been learning some new stitches and have been working on some different styles of washcloths. So far I have finished one and am working on 2 more.

I wonder if it's too late to send Kevin a birthday gift? He could be the proud owner of a blue baby-sized sweater or a washcloth made of pre-scented yarn that is supposed to smell like chamomile but really smells like rose-scented powder your grandma has left over from 1965. That cloth is lovely though. It is a blush colored yarn with an edging of muted pastel ombre yarn. I can pretty much guarantee that no one else has ever given Kevin Spacey either of those items for his birthday.

Remember these? A verrrrry long time ago fans sent me birthday greetings for Kevin and then I transferred them to little scrapbooks and sent them to Kevin at his agency in California. I have no idea if he ever got them but let me tell you, they were awfully cute! I made them in my scrapbooking days and I hand-wrote most of the messages in them and added other fun things. They were very up-lifting messages. I've often wished I'd kept the books for myself but really, what would I have done with 2 books of birthday messages addressed to Kevin Spacey? I hope he got them and looks at them every now and then. *On book 2, I wasn't saying he was old. That was supposed to go with "VIC" but I didn't realize how it looked until it was too late to change the stickers.

May 31, 2014 I'm thinking of doing something wild and crazy like buying some expensive personalized bookplates and devaluing my best books. I did not know that was such a controversial thing to do.

May 30, 2014 Kevin has been getting great reviews for Clarence Darrow.

Live web chat with Kevin on June 4th. Ask your questions here: The Guardian Chat

May 22, 2014 I'm waiting for Big Fish to get the Dark Manor game up and running again so decided to try to do a quick update while I wait.

It is official. Kevin is leaving his job as Artistic Director of the Old Vic in the Fall of 2015. They announced his replacement. Matthew Warchus. He directed Kevin and Jeff Goldblum in Speed-the-Plow.

As many of you know, Kevin's number 1 fan and good buddy KevieBear wrote to the Old Vic almost 7 years ago offering to appear in the play in place of Jeff Goldblum and only asked for a few things like his own dressing room since sharing makes him queasy, first class air fare and a supply of antihistamine because plowing makes his allergies flare up. But for reasons only they know, KevieBear never heard from Kevin or the Old Vic. Maybe they didn't have any stamps. Or perhaps KevieBear's assistant failed to mail the letter in the first place. Here's a copy of the letter if you missed it the first time around. Letter to the Old Vic

I had really hoped to see Kevin in a production at the Old Vic. That doesn't look too promising since it looks like his last play there will be Clarence Darrow which starts in less than a week! Maybe he'll be back in the future.

My only question now is where will fans be able to write to him once he's no longer at the Old Vic? KevieBear does love to send greeting cards to him twice a year.

Have you seen Kevin is embroiled in a scandal? Some reporter in Mexico says that Kevin was paid $8 million dollars to meet the president of Mexico, have his picture taken with him and tweet about it. Kevin says it ain't so. Ok, as far as scandals go that's not very exciting and I'm not sure what the actual point of the scandal is but it's all we've got.

Have you seen Kevin's in that video game whose name escapes me at the moment? I don't know how you'd have missed it, it was all over YouTube a few weeks ago. I think it's also featured on the main page of Kevin's own site.

While working on trying to get the yard in shape, I twisted my knee and my back. The knee healed in about 3 days but the back strain was a killer. It's taken about 10 days to be able to bend without pain shooting up my back. While laying in bed feeling sorry for myself I was able to stream NOW a few times. I enjoyed it. And not just because I was on pain medication. Some critics were kind of harsh. Any of the Spacey fans who had been around the Spacey chats and message boards in the past would have told you I can be very critical of things Kevin Spacey does that I don't personally care for but I don't get the criticism that this documentary was all about Kevin. I guess the critics missed the part where one of the actors in the play was talking about having breast cancer. You rarely hear of men with breast cancer. Very touching segment. I also enjoyed seeing the bits with Haydn Gwynne who was in one of my very favorite episodes of Midsomer Murders. Ghosts of Christmas Past.

I also bought the mini poster from his site's store one day when I was getting up to take my meds. It came fairly quickly in the mail. I still think he should sell Spacey magnets and key rings.

May 13, 2014 - Spacey fan Esther wants Kevin to host the Oscars. She has started a Facebook page. Click the link.

March 3, 2014 - For the first time in years I not only managed to stay awake and watch the entire Oscar telecast, I also managed to stay awake through the local news afterwards and was fading waiting for Jimmy Kimmel's special to start so while I waited I wandered over to see if anything new had been added to Kevin's new site and noticed the new link for a skit he had done as Johnny Carson with Jimmy Kimmel as a Tonight Show guest. So I posted about it on my Facebook page. Then about a half hour later, Kevin was on Jimmy Kimmel telling people to go to his new site to see a clip of Jimmy Kimmel on the Tonight Show which was just put up. In my sinus medication drug-induced state it struck me as funny that I had told people to do that before he did.

Did I mention my facial pain, fever and headache which required me to take the sinus meds? I thought that brought on the following but Spacey fan Sabine points out that it really happened. Follow the link to Ameowdeus. There is a very special piano playing cat. You can also find 3 clips of Kevin's actual interview from last night at YouTube as well.

So when is Kevin ever going to do the Ellen DeGeneres show? I've wondered that for a long time now.

March 2, 2014 - Kevin has been all over the Oscars this year.

February 28, 2014 - As you probably noticed, Kevin was not on Jimmy Kimmel the other night but Jimmy did say he was going to be on the post-Oscar show on Sunday night (or Monday morning depending on what time the Oscar telecast ends).

Today is a very special day. For the first time in YEARS I have moved some of the news at the bottom of this very long page to the Spacey Archive section. Now on to the last quarter of 2008! One of these days I'll be all caught up.

While I'm thinking about it, on Kevin's new web site, you can pre-order a documentary (for streaming or download) he made that focuses on the world tour they did with Richard III. It looks great. I don't know when the thing will actually be available though. The site is still under construction and changes are being made so be gentle.

That new picture on the front page is an older picture from 2005 by the way.

I have started a new page of old photos. It's called Publication Photos. You can find it on the Map page.

February 25, 2014 - Don't forget! Tonight on ABC, Kevin will be on Jimmy Kimmel. Speaking of Jimmy Kimmel, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Kevin will be a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live: After The Oscars on Sunday night. Kevin will also be a presenter at the awards show it was announced today. No word on which award he will be presenting.

Eagle-eyed Spacey fan Laura came across this: Kevin has his own website now! Fans of a certain age will remember that years ago, Kevin had to sue to claim his domain from a man who was using Kevin's name on a sales site. Kevin is now using his own domain for himself. Go figure.

February 19, 2014 - There is a front page article on today's Washington Post newspaper titled "Dark U.S political drama plays well in Beijing" which is about the popularity of House of Cards in China, partly due to how badly it portrays democracy.

Link to article

There is also a short piece in the Style section on a company that is selling HOC-inspired cufflinks. You can give the man in your life his own F U.

And there's also a small bit, also in the Style section, about a local stage actress who is finding fame in a small part in an episode of HOC.

February 16, 2014 - Will this long winter never end? For some added sunshine, House of Cards Season 2 is now on Netflix. They have also signed up for a third season.

Kevin is supposed to be on the George Stephanopoulos show this morning on ABC. He will be on Letterman tomorrow night, The Daily Show the following night and Jimmy Kimmel on the 25th.

August 30, 2013 - A very Happy 55th Anniversary to my parents Gail (yes, my grandmother thought she was having a girl and refused to change the name) and Barbara!

If you missed the TimesTalks streaming interview a few nights ago, you can still catch it here: TimesTalks.

August 26, 2013 - Spacey fan Jen found this on the The Wrap website today:

Netflix's 'House of Cards' to do NYT's First On-set TimesTalks (Exclusive)

The live interview will take place Wednesday with stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright and showrunner Beau Willimon

Much more about it here: The Wrap

August 21, 2013 - You might also have missed Kevin on the Charlie Rose show on PBS this week. I'd find a link to it somewhere for watching online, but since you're already online, I guess you could Google it just as easily, right? Speaking of PBS, the other day I was looking around at the PBS thing on my Roku, and the War Letters episode of American Experience was on there. Kevin is one of the speakers. Or is that readers? You get your Spacey fix right from the top no matter what they call them. You can also watch that episode online at PBS. It's letters from soldiers to loved ones at home.

Got unused money laying around? The following auction item might interest you.

August 15, 2013 - I am so far behind on current stuff that I completely forgot to tell everyone that Kevin was going to be on the Colbert Report last night. Fortunately, you can watch it online already.

I am just not getting Kevin's new hair.

July 26, 2013 - Happy Birthday Kevin Spacey! And Happy Birthday KevieBear!

Kevin and House of Cards are basking in the glow of Emmy nominations these days. I believe the show pulled in 9 nominations. Kevin for Best Actor in a Drama Series. The awards are telecast on CBS on September 22. I haven't read whether Kevin will appear but it seems likely. Maybe. They made history, BTW, for nominations for a TV show not on TV.

I haven't posted since FEBRUARY?? Gosh. Ok, let's see what have we missed... Washington Correspondents Dinner. Filming another season of House of Cards. Webby Award. His hair. He has a new puppy named Boston. Jameson Whiskey Telstar and Looking For Richard are on Netflix. And some other stuff.

I changed the contact webmaster info back to the aol account. The email button hasn't been working so the direct address is

There will be a portrait of Kevin as Richard III at London's National Portrait Gallery coming in September. His portrait is part of the Jonathan Yeo Portraits exhibit running from September 11, 2013 - January 5, 2014.

I hope to have more info later today. A link for the gallery:

I wanted to take a second to mention the passing of one of Kevin's British fans. Spacey fan Vivienne who people may remember being mentioned in older news items used to send me (and the site) little Spacey tidbits that she found in her local papers and saw on TV. She once sent a letter to Kevin complaining about the seats she had at the Old Vic and got a signed picture in the mail in return. We had a big laugh at that! We also shared a love of gardening, mostly her garden and my complaints about mine. She supported me in my yearly fight with my sickly Abraham Darby climbing rose. She passed away this past weekend and I'll miss being an email friend. I wish I'd had a chance to meet her in person. Good-bye Vivienne.

Kevin Spacey Final High for NPG low res

A striking new portrait of Kevin Spacey as Richard III will be one of several new works by Jonathan Yeo to be included in a major display of the artist’s work at the National Portrait Gallery this September, it was announced today (Wednesday 29 May.)

The large painting shows Spacey in role as Shakespeare’s notorious king, amongst his most acclaimed roles, during his tenure as artistic director of The Old Vic Theatre. Painted during the run of Sam Mendes’s 2011 Old Vic production, the oil-on-canvas work draws on the great tradition of the theatre portrait. Believed to be the actor’s first ever portrait Spacey is shown in full costume having been painted by Yeo both in his studio and on stage. Yeo saw him play the role both with and without an audience, and sketched and took photos of him working backstage. Dominating the canvas, Spacey wears a rakishly tilted crown and peers directly at the viewer.

Jonathan Yeo says: ‘When Kevin came to London to take over the Old Vic, critics were lining-up to predict that he'd only last a few months before jumping straight on a plane back to Hollywood. The fact he has stuck at it for 10 years, revitalising the international reputation of British theatre, made him an obvious choice for inclusion in my first display at the National Portrait Gallery.

‘We decided to put him in character as Shakespeare's notorious villain, partly as a nod to the tradition of theatrical portraits of the past, and partly as a celebration of what may go down as his most memorable stage role. The main dilemma with painting a great actor in a role is knowing how much you are portraying the man and how much the character he is playing. In the end I tried to leave it to the viewer to decide for themselves. It’s been Richard III’s year, from being unearthed in a Leicester Council car park to being on display at the National Portrait Gallery. Not a bad showing for someone who's been dead for six centuries.’

Jonathan Yeo Portraits (11 September 2013-5 January 2014), the National Portrait Gallery’s first display dedicated to the artist’s work, will include innovative portraits – all produced from life – of some of today’s leading cultural, media and political figures, many of whom sat for portraits for the first time with Yeo.

The display will present an overview of the artist’s work to date, beginning with the drawings he made of the party leaders on the 2001 campaign trail, and including private studies of his family and portraits of well known figures such as media mogul Rupert Murdoch, model Erin O’Connor, artist Grayson Perry and actress Sienna Miller.

Jonathan Yeo is one of the most highly regarded portrait painters working in Britain today. A regular exhibitor in its BP Portrait Award, the National Portrait Gallery commissioned Yeo to paint a portrait of broadcaster Sir Michael Parkinson in 2010.

Jonathan Yeo Portraits is curated by the Gallery’s Contemporary Curator, Sarah Howgate, whose exhibitions include the highly successful Lucian Freud Portraits (2012) and David Hockney Portraits (2006).

She says: ‘We are excited to be showing Jonathan Yeo's portraits as part of our ongoing series of projects with contemporary artists from Alex Katz to Humphrey Ocean. Yeo is remarkable in the range of sitters he portrays from life and this display will include some surprising contemporary figures who have never sat for a portrait artist before.’

Jonathan Yeo Portraits, supported by the David Ross Foundation and The Tony Banks Memorial Trust Ltd, is in the Contemporary Collection displays on the Ground Floor Lerner Galleries, National Portrait Gallery, London, 11 September 2013-5 January 2014. Admission free.

A new fully-illustrated book The Many Faces Of Jonathan Yeo with texts by Martin Gayford and Sarah Howgate, will be published by Art/Books in Oct 2013. With contributions from Alastair Sooke, Tim Marlow, Philip Mould, Giles Coren, Shebah Ronay and Michael Parkinson it is available at £24.95 hardback.

I reeeeally need to format this News page and move everything but the past 6 months to the archives!

February 9, 2013 What a treat! Kevin was in my Sunday newspaper supplements that are delivered on Saturday. He is on the cover of the Sun Magazine along with an article about House of Cards. Several color pictures inside. The picture editing program on my new laptop isn't great and the wand scanner I have wasn't quite big enough for full size magazine pages but it will have to do for now.

February 8, 2013 Anyone seen House of Cards yet? Personally, I would have put them out there a few episodes at a time to get people to come back again and again, but that's just me. There is going to be a second season.

For some reason I can't see the site entrance page banner when I log on to the site using me new laptop. I don't know if it's a computer setting or what. The only thing I know for sure is that I am hating Windows 8 with a passion. Maybe once I've had the laptop for more than 16 hours it will get easier to use. My biggest hope is that I will be able to update the site more regularly now and that it won't vaporize the first time I try to update. If it does, you won't have been reading this!

February 1, 2013 Wow. February already. Kevin will be returning to Letterman tonight so don't miss that. His quick on and off last night was funny but tonight he'll be a "real" guest so will be on longer. His bald spot was also back. Someone must have found it and returned it to him. I wonder if he had to pay a ransom?

House of Cards was reviewed in the Washington Post this morning. All 13 episodes are available from Netflix starting now.

January 31, 2013 - Spacey fan Liz tells us that Kevin is to be on the Today show tomorrow (Friday) morning. No idea which hour.

Kevin was in the Washington Post Style section again this morning. This time at a screening of House of Cards at the Newseum.

January 30, 2013 Kevin was on Hardball w/ Chris Mathews last night. I couldn't get the channel to come in. I think I need a new cable box. He is scheduled to be on Letterman tomorrow (Thursday) night.

Which brings me to this... Kevin Spacey what in the world have you done to your hair?? Or should I say where did you leave your bald spot and thinning hair? Have you checked the lost and found at the last airport you were at? Is Grecian Formula a show sponsor? Hair Club For Men? The pictures from the last few appearances have been alarming to say the least.

Kevin and House of Cards were on the cover of last Sunday's Washington Post Sunday Style issue. The Washington Post called it an on-demand thriller. I'd have mentioned it on Saturday when I got the Sunday newspaper supplements with the Saturday paper but I don't have a computer at home these days and I can't update the site on my Nook.

KevieBear was quite surprised and excited last week to receive an autographed picture of Kevin in the mail. As to be expected this made him totally unbearable to be around and I promised to post the picture on his website but since I haven't updated his site in a few years I couldn't remember the password and well... here it is now. Obviously this is a picture from House of Cards since as we all know Kevin Spacey doesn't have that much hair. Or he didn't. But we definitely know it's not that color!

January 2, 2013 The cataract surgery went very well with no complications. Now I'm just waiting to get my glasses back which should be within the next few days. I only needed to switch out the left lens but they couldn't get the same kind of lens to match the right lens so I had to get new lenses for both sides and since my "old" frames were just over a year old, I had them use those instead of buying new frames and have been wearing an older pair of glasses which have been giving me some eye strain which has been causing some headaches. What a pain!

The hit counter doesn't work on the entrance page anymore. Curses.

November 15, 2012 Thanks to Rachel and Mindy there are a few new things to see today. First, Netflix is adding more info for House of Cards including a trailer for the series. You can find that here:

House of Cards/Netflix

Then, if you can't get the trailer to play at Netflix, you can try watching it on the Empire magazine site:

November 2, 2012 Some said that Maryland mostly dodged a bullet with the hurricane earlier in the week but a writer (for a Baltimore paper I think it was) said that Central Maryland dodged a rocket launcher and that certainly seems to be the case. My own family got by with flickering lights, rain that seemed it would never stop and terrifying winds but never fully lost our power, no trees are down and the basement didn't flood as we were afraid of. I was sure the roof was going to go flying or a tree was going to land on the house but that never happened. We were very lucky.

BTW #1 - Thank you for the encouraging words Spacey fan Erika. I hope you are right! I look forward to not squinting and seeing double in one eye, that's for sure.

BTW #2 - I am royally pissed at Barnes and Noble this morning. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

October 26, 2012 Someone is feeling very old today and it's not Kevin Spacey. Today is Driving Mr. Spacey's 12th birthday! Pay It Forward was the movie that was out when the site started.

Kevin continues to be seen out and about in Maryland. Over the weekend he took in the Navy vs Indiana game in Annapolis. Local news reports claim he did pushups with the midshipmen and some people may be asking why he would have been doing that. OK, I'm probably the only one who was asking. He is still filming House of Cards.

I can remember Marie Osmond once saying that she had reached the point in her life when adults were telling her that their parents met at one of her concerts waaay back when. And David Allen Grier has said that women in bars tell him that their grandmothers used to watch him on In Living Color and I wondered if Kevin looked at some of these kids and thought how he was old enough to be... never mind. I was probably the only one thinking that as well.

This has been a weird month for me. In less than a 4 day span I found out I'm going to need to have cataract surgery on one eye and my tonsils removed. I thought only old people had one and only kids had the other. I was wrong. Now I'm squinting at the screen and rubbing my throat. I'm tackling the eye thing first. This requires a lot of advance planning and if the looming BIGGEST AND MOST HORRIBLE HURRICANE W/SNOW EVER SEEN BY MANKIND fails to materialize on Monday, I have to have my eye measured for the lens replacement surgery which takes place the week after Thanksgiving. My father may start his cancer treatment again but that is currently on hold while he recovers from a few set backs.

All has not been health related. I *did* get a lovely surprise in the mail earlier in the week. On Tuesday I received a note from Kevin himself thanking his fans at Driving Mr. Spacey! (and the bear as you can see) for his annual birthday cards. I take no responsibility for what the bear wrote when he signed his card but I do know that he would no doubt say that once again his idol is copying his style because as everyone knows, KevieBear often signs his own name as K Bear.

BTW - If I can ever remember how to change that video above the news, I'll try to change it to one that is a bit more in line with whatever the current holiday is at the time. With any luck it will involve turkeys and pumpkin pie and not jingling bells and candy canes.

It is once again time to drag out the Halloween pictures that have received complaints over the years. I couldn't decide which one to use this year so decided to use them both on the entrance page. The picture on the left was made from a photo for Richard III and the other was used as the confirmation page for the old Spacey Halloween poll. I enjoyed them but some people said they were evil.

July 25, 2012 If you missed it on PBS recently, you can now buy the Spacey narrated "American Masters: Johnny Carson: King of Late Night" on DVD and Blu-Ray. According to a reviewer on Amazon, the DVD includes a Spacey bonus. A 6 minute "Behind the Scenes with Kevin Spacey which shows him recording the narration, giving his reflections on Johnny Carson and shows a clip of his only time on the Tonight Show when Johnny Carson was host.

If I don't have a chance to post anything tomorrow, July 26th, let me take this chance to wish Kevin Spacey a very Happy Birthday. And a very happy birthday wish for KevieBear too. Can't forget the bear!

July 13, 2012 Nothing to report except Kevin's birthday is on July 26 again. Just like last year!

July 5, 2012 I finally managed to remove the Christmas video and have replaced it with the above Fourth of July video my sister sent me. Hope you enjoy it even though it's a day late!

June 20, 2012 Does anyone journal? Did you in the past? Short story - taking an online journaling class to relieve stress and anxiety. Class causing stress and anxiety because first lesson requires asking 3 people who journal a series of 4 questions, and then using those responses to the questions and the things I learn in the first lesson to make 3 goals that I hope to achieve with this course. Small problem - I don't know anyone who journals. I've read that Kevin keeps a journal but by the time I could write to him at the Old Vic, that letter get forwarded to him, maybe he replies or maybe he doesn't... class is long over. KevieBear journals but well, I'm not sure I want to put in writing that he replies to my questions, if you know what I mean.

If anyone does journals and wants to be kind enough to answer the questions, you could email the answers to me here at the site's email addy. You don't have to give your name or anything and the answers go no further than me. I read them and then formulate my own goals. The answers don't need to be very long or involved either.

The questions are as follows.

1. What led you to journaling?

2. How often did/do you journal?

3. What tools or techniques help/helped you to journal?

4. What benefits did/do you receive from journaling?

Do you know what next month is? That's right! Kevin's birthday! He's going to be, let's see.. um.. 59 from 100 is 41 and then add the 12 you get when you subtract 2000 from 2012. He's going to be 53 years old. Hard to believe he was mere days or weeks from being 40 when I saw him in Iceman in NYC way back when. How weird is it that he's 13 years older but I'm not? Go figure.

June 11, 2012 You might have seen this pop up if you were watching videos on You Tube yesterday. It was one of their featured "ads" when you loaded a video. Kevin in The Ventriliquist. I had clicked on a video and the Trigger Street logo came on screen and I was wondering if it was going to be something Kevin was in and yes, it was.

May 25, 2012 I'm still here. Kevin has been very busy but I don't have the energy to post the info. My father hit a very rough patch in his cancer treatment a few weeks ago and his care has taken every bit of my time. I haven't had a single chance to work on the sister site or this one either, for that matter. It's enough to get out of bed in the morning! Nurses and professional caregivers do not get the appreciation or the salaries they deserve, let me tell you. Frankly, I don't know how they do it day in and day out. I'm pooped. With any luck I'll be able to do a few updates within the next week. I was telling my sister that I am so exhausted and she asked if I was feeling my age and I said no. I was feeling hers and Kevin Spacey's which was worse.

I received Telstar from Netflix but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

There was also something about a movie in China that I was going to mention but can't remember why.

March 23, 2012 - I completely forgot to send closing night flowers for the end of Richard III! They would have been beautiful, whatever they were. I'll have to plan for next time. Once I figure out how to take the Christmas video off, I'll move it somewhere else.

February 27, 2012 - I've been working on the new sister site but the launch is going to be put off for a while because my father has been diagnosed with cancer so that is going to be taking most of my time for a while. Working on the site has always given me a good break when I need one so hopefully there will be some things to add here and there.

On to Spacey news. Something new for the U.S. fans - Telstar is finally coming to DVD! Release date is March 20, 2012. If you missed hearing about the film, you can still catch the movie's web site from the UK theater release here:

Thanks to Mindy for that info. (I think it was Mindy, my mind has been a bit all over the place lately.)

I'm going to have to change the info on the FAQ page about the location of Kevin's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It is in front of what used to be called the Kodak Theater where the Oscars are held each year but as part of their bankruptcy reorganization, Kodak is being allowed to drop the name from the front of the theater, saving them an estimated $4 million a year. Once I know what else to call it, I'll make that change.

February 9, 2012 - It's always a thrill when I can post news without something going wrong. The following info just came to me:

Kevin will be participating in the OSC Master Class on Richard III in NYC on Wednesday, February 22 at noon. He will also conduct the Q&A. You can find more information here:

Thanks for the info Ron.

January 26, 2012 I still haven't decided what I'm going to do about expanding on to another site or changing formats but I am currently working on a temporary site at which is not available for public consumption yet because I don't know what I'm doing. I'm taking a short course on using WordPress but so far am only on lesson 3 of 12 so have a way to go. Once I decide to go public with it, it will be found at

I'll let everyone know how that goes.

A bunch of Spacey fan ladies and at least one husband are going to see Richard III tonight. I hope you all have a fantastic time! Too bad the function afterwards was cancelled.

Kevin is going to be a guest at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans on March 10. Not as a guest of the hotel. He will be a at the Make It Right charity gala to raise money for the building of sustainable, affordable homes for families who lost their homes during Hurricane Katrina. The gala will also promote sustainable housing in Newark, NJ and Kansas City, MO for disabled veterans and disadvantaged communities.

Make It Right

January 16, 2012 For future reference, I may be starting another Driving Mr. Spacey site in the very near future as a continuation of this one because of a publishing problem I am having due to a trojan that messed up some of the site files. It would be found at either or, I haven't decided which one to use yet. Probably the .net. This site would still be here at the current address, I just wouldn't be able to make changes to it which is why I'd have to pick up where this one leaves off.

Kevin will be filming his new TV show House of Cards in Baltimore starting in March. I guess it's called a TV show even though it's supposed to be filmed specifically for streaming by Netflix. Picture is from the Baltimore Sun newspaper last week. I scanned it with my new scanning wand while laying in bed with tonsillitis.

December 7, 2011 Margin Call will be in the theaters in the UK on January 13. You can find their UK release Facebook page here.

I need to stop updating the news page in the wee hours when I can't sleep. I just noticed that a few things I've posted lately make no sense. I've corrected those things.

I saw the Father of Invention DVD at Target when I was doing some Christmas shopping a few days ago. I was hoping someone would get it for me for Christmas but I don't think I ever told anyone. Maybe I'd better mention it.

According to an online article, Kevin is supposed to be staying on some fabulously luxurious and expensive yacht suitable for big parties while he's in Australia for Richard III. Did anyone else get an invitation for a party on a yacht? I never got one.

December 4, 2011 If you don't follow Kevin on Facebook you may have missed the following. A chance to direct him in your own short film. Be sure to check out the rules and regulations to avoid disappointment at a later date.

Have some money laying around and you don't know what to do with it? Say between $1,250 and $50,000? How about attending the Old Vic New York Benefit Gala in NYC next month? I'm not sure what type of tickets or size of tables are still available but according to the letter I received, you can contact Marianne Carey Hayes at (212)245-6570 Ext 16 or fax at (212) 581-8717 or email

They can tell you what benefits you get by purchasing individual tickets or tables.

November 20, 2011 I have added a new test page that will have some Spacey holiday videos that I made on The 80's hair band video is the first one I did this season and the mouths are not quite where they should be but enjoyable anyway. Sometimes the videos load, sometimes they don't. I'll be adding a few more in the next few days.

Tester page.

**I've replaced the American Airlines commercial above with singing Spacey elves. I hope it works. If the video doesn't start quickly, try again later. One time it started immediately and the next time it counted 1 minute and 26 seconds. I'd suggest hitting play and going to get a cup of coffee. Same with the videos on the tester page if they don't start immediately. My sister likes this one. At the end of the video it has a button for making your own at Jibjab but the link takes you to an error page. So you would want to go to or

November 15, 2011 - I have updated the Links page. I have added a few newer things and deleted some old links that are no longer working. if there is a link that you think should be listed, let me know. I have also made a few updates to the site FAQ page.

I have also noticed that the links bars on some of the pages are sending people to pages that are not connected in the navigation chart for the site. I'd suggest using the UP button on the tops of the pages to take you back to the index page instead of using the back and next link bars until I figure out what is going on.

**I think I have the navigation link bars fixed now. What a mess. Only about half of the pages on the Map page were connecting to the next page in the series so many sections of the site were only available through the Map page. Kevin's tribute to Jason Robards is now back in the Theatre section where it belongs as well.

November 11, 2011 - A new commercial campaign for American Airlines starring you know who starts on UK television tomorrow but I'm being allowed to offer a peek of it on Driving Mr. Spacey today. **The commercial had to be sacrificed to make room for the singing Kevin elves.

I hope it works! Thank you to Emma. There are a few more smaller spots that you can find once that commercial plays, btw.

If you are looking for Margin Call at a theater near you, you can find the current availability at the following link. Thanks to Kimberly for that info.

Find a theater near you.

October 17, 2011 - Kevin is on the schedule for tomorrow morning's Live w/ Regis & Kelly. I guess he's winging his way across the country for his stop in San Francisco. Check your local listings for the time in your area.

Oh, he's also scheduled for the Today show tomorrow morning. No idea which segment though.

New film Margin Call premiers.

October 5, 2011 - Horrible Bosses will be available on Movies on Demand starting October 11th. Thanks to Rossana for the info.

September 23, 2011 -

It has been hinted to me that perhaps I could mention that Richard III is not a one man show. That there are other actors involved. Well, I guess I could mention that but why would someone be looking here for information on other actors and their performing schedules?

Attention all of you fans in the Asturias region of Spain. Kevin and Richard III will be at the Centro Niemeyer in Avilés next week from Wednesday (September 28!) through October 1.

Centro Niemeyer

Gonna be in Italy in October? Kevin will be too.

The Napoli Teatro Festival Italia will be presenting Richard III. October 14 and 15 at the Teatro Politeama. I guess that would be in.. Naples?

More info and tickets can be found at the following link:

Teatro Festival Italia

Maybe you'd prefer to meet up with him in Sydney, Australia?

The Lyric Theatre at Star City. December 1-10, 2011

China might be fun. Singapore is still part of China, isn't it? Was it ever? No, I don't think it is. I'll have to Google that. Anyway, how about the Singapore Repertory Theatre between November 17 and November 26?

The Singapore Repertory Theatre

*** According to Spacey fan Joyce, Singapore is not in China but Beijing is which is where Richard III will be found November 11 - November 13, 2011 at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Link for ticket info below:

I think I have all of the correct dates and times. Some of these may be sold out. I had read that the San Francisco and Sydney venues might already be.

Thank you to Joyce, Valerie and Laura.

September 9, 2011 - What a horrible month! Mother briefly but unexpectedly in the hospital, East Coast Earthquake of 2011, Hurricane Irene, Hurricane Lee, slipped on the marble floor of the lobby at work when I stepped on a wet spot (and man, am I sore and bruised), lights flickering at home, losing power at the office, ceiling at the office leaking during huge rain downpour on Wednesday, lost the flash drive with all of the files for the site and couldn't update until today (!!!)... so how are things where you are?

Remember Leo and Lisa from a few years ago? At least I think it was a few years ago. Let's say it was a few years ago however long ago it was. You can watch it here if you missed it the first time around. Thank you to Hamish for the link. There are some other Spacey/Old Vic related videos to be found there too. Very clear and sharp.

Richard III is wrapping up at the Old Vic on Sunday and the play is going on the road. A Spacey fan reminds me that I had not posted that it is going to be performed next month in San Francisco. Confession time - I lost her email which she sent me quite a while ago so I don't remember her name just that she has tickets for October. Thank you Spacey fan... er, Jane? Julia? Update - Turns out that was Valerie.

October 19-29, 2011 at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco.

Spacey fan Carla directed me to a great review of the play. You can read it here. Thank you Carla.

July 2, 2011 - There is a full page article about Horrible Bosses in tomorrow's Washington Post newspaper. One large picture that does not contain Kevin Spacey although the painting behind the other people looks like Kevin, a dog and a woman.

The reporter was interviewing some of the cast members on a conference call. This is the only part of the article that mentions Kevin:

But Kevin Spacey plays the most horrible boss of all: the unethical, mean-spirited psycho who turns the life of Bateman’s character into the office equivalent of daily waterboarding.

Let’s go back to that conference call.

Day: Even though Colin Farrell’s character was willing to let people die in — where was it, Bolivia? — Kevin Spacey is definitely the one who does the most psychological damage to his employee.

Bateman: I may have just been more effective at playing hurt and vulnerable than you guys.

Day: It could all be Bateman’s performance.

Sudeikis: Spacey [is the most frightening].

Day: That’s two votes for Spacey.

Bateman, again to reporter: Basically, just to sum up the answer — and I don’t mean to write for you but — Bateman is a knockout.

Hang on there, Bateman. In an economy where good jobs are rare, let’s let the reporter do her job.

Anemic economy makes this summer the ideal time, climate for ‘Horrible Bosses’ by Jen Cheney.

Full article plus a few pictures (#2 is the one in the paper) can be found here. You may need to sign up to read the article.

I've made 3 whole updates to the Old Vic News page! If you're interested, the link is on the black box under the picture at the top of the page.

June 29, 2011 - The official website for Horrible Bosses can be found here. Trailers, wallpaper and the usual fun stuff.

I was going to use the picture above (or to the side depending on how it's showing up!) for Richard III as the site entrance picture. Maybe I'll move this once Horrible Bosses has finished it's run.

The Reliable Source by Roxanne Roberts and Amy Argetsinger

Stars - they have so much to teach us. And pretty much any day of the week, they're in Washington to tell us how to do better. Tuesday's visitor: Kevin Spacey.

Setting: Cannon House Office Building

Cause: A breakfast kicking off the annual Arts Advocacy Day.

What he wants: More 2012 funding for the National Endowment for the Arts than the proposed $67.5 million.

How he looked: Sleek in a gray suit.

Wingman: A late-arriving Alec Baldwin, whose flight was weather-delayed.

Hitch: The congressional committee where Spacey was scheduled to testify had to cancel because of the larger budget debate, reports our colleague Jacqueline Trescott, so he used his talking points at the breakfast.

Sound bite: "An NEA grant isn't about the art itself - it's about our country sending the elevator back down so that a new creative idea can get a chance to prove itself."

Whom we passed up to see them: "Law & Order: SVU" star Tamara Tunie testifying on child abuse deaths.

Spacey fan Vivienne and her husband Bob tipped me off to this:

Kevin will co-host an 80th birthday celebration for Soviet ex-President Gorbachev next month in London.

Tomorrow night: Oscar chat! DMS chat room anytime during the awards. With any luck the room will be working!

January 13, 2011 - Kevin is scheduled to be on the Colbert Report tonight. Check your local listings for the time in your area. Thanks to Jennifer for the reminder.

Kevin will be a presenter on the Critic's Choice Movie Awards on VH1 tomorrow night at 9pm EST. Thanks to Zannie for that info.

Picture above from the Edwin Booth Lifetime Achievement Award which honored Kevin this year.

You don't know how bad I want to make a hobbit/Lord of the Rings sequel joke after seeing this picture:

Dana Brunetti, Kevin Spacey, Armie Hammer, Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg at the 2011 Board of Review of Motion Pictures gala in New York City on January 11.

January 3, 2011 -

2011 is shaping up to be very Spacey. New TV slots swiped directly from Casino Jack via Spacey fan Joanne at Facebook:

Tuesday night (1/4) - NBC - Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (this is on right after Jay Leno)

Wednesday (1/5) - Syndicated in the AM - Live w/Regis & Kelly

Wednesday (1/5) - E! - Chelsea Lately (check the listings for that as it's on several times in the evening.)

Thursday (1/6) - The less said about this the better. I am very envious of the fans going to see him in NYC.

Pete Postlethwaite, Kevin's co-star in The Usual Suspects and The Shipping News has died. I always enjoyed watching him.

I need to go through all of the old movie sections and delete the old links for official movie sites that are not on the web any longer. The Shipping news site is gone now but I'd hate for a repeat of the "ex-Beyond The Sea site is now a porn site" mess to be repeated.

December 19, 2010 -

Happy Birthday to my sister Suzanne who wishes to remain anonymous!! Last year she was in the hospital having her second surgery in less than a week and there was a blizzard swirling and now it's been a year and she hasn't been back in the hospital since. Very good news!

I missed Kevin on Keith Olberman several days ago and then barely caught him on the Today show and he has now posted at Facebook that he has an appearance on Conan coming up fast. I'll have to find out which day.

There is an article about Kevin in today's Washington Post newspaper. The Arts section. Usual stuff except for the very large color picture of Kevin and the smaller still from Casino Jack. I'll post more about that after I get back from shopping.

December 8, 2010 - Kevin is scheduled to be on the Jimmy Kimmel and the Tavis Smiley shows next week. I assume he's still supposed to be on Kimmy Kimmel next week. He's showing on their web site for next Tuesday but Kevin has posted on Facebook that he did the show last night. I'm hoping he filmed something for later. I've posted the links to both shows on the site's Calendar page (link in the black box above) so you can check for times and channels in your area.

December 2, 2010 - Kevin's interview at the NYT Arts & Leisure Weekend next month is sold out. There are no more tickets available.

Tickets for the London production of Richard III at the Old Vic Theatre go on sale next month. January 31, 2011 on the Old Vic web site. The play will run there from June 18 - September 11, 2011.

The play will also be at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in New York in 2012, running from January 10 - March 4, 2012 but no date has been announced for when tickets go on sale.

I have updated the Calendar page to reflect these new dates.

My big computer died and hasn't been replaced and I've been doing site updates using a tiny notebook so can't tell how things are looking in a more regular size so if anything looks kind of "off" that is why. My favorite picture program that I used on my old computer is not usable on the notebook so I haven't been able to make any new collages so am being forced to recycle old ones. This is why the new entrance page picture may seem familiar.

Someone emailed me a month or two ago to tell me how her friends had managed to get her Kevin's autograph after seeing him in person and I have lost the email and never replied back to her. Was that email from...Julie or Julia? I'm still trying to find your email, but if I don't I was going to tell you that this was very exciting news for you and that you are very lucky and you have nice friends.

November 13, 2010 - This next bit has nothing to do with Kevin Spacey other than while I've been searching online for a K-PAX screensaver I have also been watching E.T. on HBO. I must say that times sure have changed. Mom leaves 5 year old Gertie home alone (or so she thinks) while she goes to Elliott's school and tells Gertie to stay in the house. Today the only way a 5 year old girl would be left alone in a movie would be because she was going to be kidnapped, murdered or set the house on fire trying to deep-fry a turkey while her mother runs to the store to buy some extra cranberry sauce so the mother could be hauled away by social services leading to a very dramatic courtroom conclusion as the mother tries to get her child back.

Not long ago I was watching an old Lana Turner/Bob Hope film in which Bob was a writer living in a new suburban neighborhood which looked eerily like the neighborhood that E.T., Mom and Gertie lived in 15 16 or 17 years later. In one very shocking scene, a little neighborhood girl even younger than Gertie was waiting ALONE IN A CAR OUTSIDE A SUPERMARKET and Bob comes along and the little girl GETS OUT OF THE CAR AND GOES INTO THE STORE WITH HIM and when the mother sees her little girl with a strange man she asks the child why she wasn't waiting in the car like Mommy told her to! Then, even though the mom has never met the man before, when the little girl tells her mommy that she's going to help the man shop, the mommy says that's ok, that she'll be in another part of the store! Surely even back in the very early 1960's mom's didn't let their little 4 year olds walk off with strange men. The times weren't *that* different than they are today.

November 12, 2010 - Spacey fan Laura has informed me that you can get tickets to see Kevin in person at the New York Times 10th Annual Arts & Leisure Weekend on January 6, 2011. Click on the link for more info and to buy tickets. Sadly, (sniff) I will be unable to attend so that means there's still one unsold ticket (sniff) to be found. If you're lucky enough to attend, just remember who told you about it.

Now, on to local Casino Jack news. Apparently, Kevin hosted a special Washington, DC showing of Casino Jack on Wednesday night. There was a large mention of this in today's Washington Post Style section.

A jury of their sneers

Opening your political Washington movie in front of a media-political Washington audience? Pretty much the definition of "tough crowd." That was the room that "Casino Jack" faced Wednesday at an E Street Cinema screening of the Kevin Spacey-as-Jack Abramoff flick, sponsored by the Creative Coalition, with faces like Andrea Mitchell, Jane Harman and Ben Bradlee in the crowd.

You didn't have to be a Pulitzer-winning expert on the Byzantine schemes of the disgraced former superlobbyist to wince at the Hollywood embroidery and hyperbole. Rep. Bob Ney getting handcuffed in the halls of Congress? Doesn't work that way. Abramoff's now-defunct Signatures declared "the best restaurant in town"? Don't recall that. They even botched the cliched insult: It's not "Washington is Hollywood with ugly faces," it's "Washington is Hollywood for ugly people"!

Possibly the room's favorite groaner: The rooftop happy hour where a journalist taunts Abramoff for his links to Mariana Islands sweatshops and gets slugged in the face by another lobbyist. Next line: "You just hit a hemophiliac reporter for The Washington Post!" (We've asked around. Didn't happen. Sorry.)

There was just too much, really, and moderator Chris Matthews seemed too weary to take it all on in the post-screening Q&A, so he let Spacey off the hook with mild hazing.

"How'd ya get permission to shoot on the Capitol lawn?" the MSNBC anchor asked. "That's not allowed. HAH!"

"I think we call it CGI," the star responded dryly. "We shot it all in Toronto."

The movie was meant to "shed a light on a process that is a culture," said Spacey. "When we look at the kind of money that needs to be raised for campaigns ... maybe we can make some points about the hypocrisy" and inspire some change.

Well, what kind? Spacey suggested that campaign reform could begin by cutting back on costly ads. The networks, he said, could "decide they could serve the public" by vetting all campaign ads for accuracy, and then "run them for free."

Huh. "You've gotten beyond me," growled Matthews. "I don't know how to do that. Because of the First Amendment."

The mood was a little flat, as it's reportedly been at many recent "Casino Jack" unveilings: The director, George Hickenlooper, died suddenly two weeks ago in Denver at age 47. Spacey said he most regretted that Hickenlooper missed screening the movie for a D.C. audience. "He was finally being recognized as a great filmmaker."

A man in the audience who said he was a friend of Abramoff's applauded Spacey's nuanced portrayal. Abramoff wasn't just a heavy, "he was dorky," the friend said. "He was a dorky guy. I thought you did a fantastic job." -

There is a nice picture of Kevin and Chris Mathews on the paper's site but it is different from the picture in the newspaper. The picture in the paper shows Kevin and CM facing a handful of photographers.

The Posts's link doesn't work so go to The Washington Post, Arts & Living, Style, the article about Kevin and Casino Jack.

The movie chats are back for the holidays. I'll be posting a schedule on the chat entrance page. Tomorrow night's movie is The Ref. 9pm EST.

November 10, 2010 - Just added! Kevin is going to be on Hardball w/ Chris Mathews tonight.

Kevin is supposed to be on Andrea Mitchell's show on MSNBC at 1pm EST today. A spacey-ish type fan saw it earlier while watching MSNBC. It's supposed to be part of his Casino Jack press. I don't know if he's live or pre-taped though.

Kevin says (ok, I stole that from a post he made on Facebook) there's a Trigger Street Productions comic book on the stands at Wal-Mart starting today. Their tagline is:

"When aliens wipe out Earth’s superheroes, the worlds’ super-villains become mankind’s last hope in defeating the alien invasion."

November 9, 2010 - Hmm. Unusual new look Kevin was sporting yesterday. I'm hoping he was caught in the wind because as a new look, this one just doesn't work. From Los Angeles last night where Casino Jack had it's premier.

November 5, 2010 - Kevin was in L.A. yesterday to be a presenter at the BAFTA LA 2010 Britannia Awards.

He seems to be wearing a tiny version of his CBE award on his lapel. This is going to be shown on the TV Guide channel on November 7. 8pm EST with a half hour red carpet pre-show. International info below this lovely photo.

BAFTA LA 2010 Britannia Awards

I've been informed that the awards will be seen in France, Canada, the UK, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg; Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and throughout the Pan Asian territories including Singapore, South Korea and more so check your own TV listings and networks if you are outside the United States. Kevin is there to present an award to Jeff Bridges for the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film. Thanks to Allie for the additional info.

It was nice of Kevin, BAFTA LA and the TV Guide network to give me an early birthday gift of his presence on American TV!

November 4, 2010 - The official website for Casino Jack:

Kevin had an exciting day yesterday. He received an honorary CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for his services to drama in England. Thanks to Sue and Laura. Click the link for video.

November 2, 2010 - This would have been fun for Halloween... 60 minutes of Spacey Brain Picking!

"Last night, Krug hosted the annual Krug Mind Share auction at Sotheby’s, London, auctioning the world’s greatest Minds from the fields of finance, business, politics, art and entertainment.

This project brought together individuals who, through a quest for excellence, ambition and often a maverick spirit have succeeded in their given field - the very traits that drove Joseph Krug when he started Krug champagne in 1843. This year, Minds have generously given up one of their most treasured resources - their time, for 100% of the auction proceeds to be donated to their charity of choice.

Carphone Warehouse owner, David Ross bought Kevin Spacey for £9k, with the auction proceeds going to the Old Vic Trust."

I wonder what I'd want to know from Kevin if I only had 60 minutes to talk with him? Thanks to Kaydine for that info.

Planning to be in London on November 21 and have some time and money available? You could go see the 24 Hour Plays at the Old Vic. From the Old Vic:

A host of acclaimed actors, directors and writers will generously lend their extraordinary talent to write and rehearse six short plays before performing them on The Old Vic stage, all within 24 hours.

It's the ultimate theatrical challenge that culminates with an exclusive post show party for our valiant participants.

The artists donate their services to The Old Vic so the final cast, which depends on artists' availability nearer the time, is announced during the month of performance.

The 24 Hour Plays Celebrity Gala is in aid of The Old Vic Theatre Trust and is the chief fundraiser for Old Vic New Voices, our entrepreneurial department which works in schools and the community to address poverty of aspiration and supports young emerging talent.

Since The Old Vic receives no government subsidy, this event is vital to enable this on-going work.

We so appreciate your support in enabling this brilliant work to develop by buying tickets for this event.

As well as tickets, there are unique opportunities to bid on our silent auction, including the chance to bid for The Golden Ticket, which will provide one lucky winner a chance to be involved with all 24 hours of The 24 Hour Plays Celebrity Gala!

October 26, 2010 - Today Driving Mr. Spacey! is 10 years old. I'm trying to find the picture I used as the first entrance page photo. I'll post it once I do.

October 23, 2010 -

Before anyone feels the need to email me, the Halloween picture on the entrance page is just supposed to be fun for Halloween. It's not supposed to be satanic or demonize Kevin. I always enjoy it. Funny that I usually get a few complaints about *that* picture but I don't recall ever getting any negative feedback about the 2 pictures (below) which I had used at various times on the Spacey Halloween poll confirmation page. That would have been waaay back when the polls were working, of course. It's too bad my favorite old photo program won't work on the computer I'm using now.

Old Driving Mr. Spacey! Spacey poll trivia - The top 3 multiple choice picks for the question "Why is Kevin afraid of Halloween?" are:

1. He hates it when he eats all the Halloween candy he bought in September and has to go back and buy more in October.

2. Last year when he handed out sticks of sugar-free gum, a little girl kicked him in the shins.

3. When he was 14, he caught a bad cold waiting in a pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin to appear.

And the most common write-in answer for what costume he should wear? His birthday suit.

October 2, 2010 -  I've been reading a lot of great things about Social Network. There have been articles in the local paper. But one thing has been missing for the most part. References to the executive producer and his production company.

Having said that, you can catch an interview at the following link. Kevin was part of IMDB's anniversary video of the day thing. Trigger Street's Dana Brunetti is also interviewed. Thanks to Jennifer for the info.

And this is the link for the official site:

September 14, 2010 - I've started a new page. Since the site celebrates it's 10th anniversary next month, I've decided to share some old Spacey things that are found elsewhere on the site as well as some of my own reminiscences from the years past.

Anniversary Tidbits

September 8, 2010 - Gonna be in London next month? I got the following info in an email this morning (BTW, spellings are British):

Kevin Spacey, Hollywood and theatre star, will share stories in a special ‘Audience with’ event to support Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

Kevin will be interviewed at the evening, hosted by Alastair Campbell and Ed Victor. The intimate ambience of the Criterion Theatre means the audience can put their own questions directly to Kevin during the evening.

‘A Special Audience With Kevin Spacey’ will take place at the Criterion Theatre on Sunday 3 October at 8pm. There are a limited number of tickets including a champagne reception hosted by Alastair and Ed from 6.30pm available for £120 each. Seats for the show only are for £25, £50 or £60 depending on their location in the theatre.

For further information and to book, please contact Sophie Garrett on 020 7685 1022 or email or visit

August 27, 2010 - Sad news. Kevin Spacey has no interest in recording a Christmas album. I know, you're all as devastated as I am. No CD with a cover shot of Kevin in a bulky sweater sitting in front of a roaring fire. No accompanying DVD sold only at Target. No singing a selection from the album on a Macy's Thanksgiving float. No stops off at local PBS stations to showcase a pre-recorded TV special. No Kevin Spacey Christmas Extravaganza tickets being given away with a pledge of $500 or more. I guess we'll just have to make do with Johnny Mathis this year.

August 26, 2010 - Great news! Something to look forward to. Kevin will be appearing in a stage production of Richard III at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Harvey Theater in New York from February - April of 2012 followed by a short international tour winding up at the Old Vic in May of 2012 for 4 months followed by a longer international tour. More details will be coming later. This is very exciting news! This announcement has been on many news and gossip sites today. Thanks Linda.

August 24, 2010 - Kevin is expected to be at the Toronto International Film Festival next month. Thanks to Spacey fan Carla for the following link.

Guests at TIFF 2010

August 19, 2010 - HBO has snapped up the developing rights for a new Triggerstreet TV show. Which could possibly star none other than Kevin himself if all the news blips on the web are true. It's currently called The Crux and will be about the leader of a high-profile cult. I hope this gets made and that Kevin will star in it.

I just noticed this entry on the Calendar page:

TV - PBS - Kevin narrates On Record: The Soundtrack Of Our Lives (Fall 2010)

I haven't seen anything else about this since I originally added it to the calendar but Fall is right around the corner. Hopefully it won't be on during pledge week!

August 16, 2010 - I am going insane! I've been trying to get the polls and Feedback pages working again but so far they are resisting every attempt. I've removed the link for the Feedback form from the Map page for now.

I've moved some of the news from the bottom of this page to the news archives pages. Now this page just goes back 2 years! I'll be moving more to the archives later.

Only 70 days until the site will celebrate it's 10th birthday!

August 13, 2010 -

Kevin says on Facebook today that he signed both letters. I may have to set up side by side comparison photos and poll the readers.

August 12, 2010 -

Letter from KevinNow Kevin thanks his fans at Driving Mr. Spacey for the birthday card we sent. He's a fun guy. I really need to either get my scanner fixed or buy a new one.

Shhhh ...Don't let on to the bear but that' doesn't look like Kevin's signature. Someone else must have signed the letter in his place.

August 11, 2010 -

I'm loopy after having dental work so hopefully this will be coherent. If not, I'll fix it tomorrow!

KevieBear received an exciting piece of mail. From London! It's a thank you letter from Kevin, for the birthday card KevieBear sent to him. As you can imagine, K-Bear is now impossible to live with and is ignoring the fact that the signature on the letter does not look like any Spacey signature any of us fans have ever seen before. KBear thinks it is some kind of secret code, but hasn't figured it out yet.

A letter from London!        It has KevieBear's name on it.         KevieBear, London, Old Vic       Dear KevieBear!

Did you catch Kevin on that AFI tribute to Mike Nichols that was on TV last month? I thought at the time that it must be a rare occasion these days when he finds himself to be the youngest person in the room!

May 31, 2010

Kevin is going to be hosting a 192nd birthday bash/fundraiser for the Old Vic Theatre on July 1st. There will be a champagne reception, dinner, art auction and a very special musical performance by Paul McCartney. Fans who are too young to know why he is such an impressive guest, he was the Justin Bieber of a 1960's singing group called The Beatles. Big bucks will get you a premium table! Ticket info on the Old Vic web site. Click on the pic to the left to take you to the OV site.

Reports say that Kevin has signed to do a film called Margin Call which will co-star Stanley Tucci, Carla Gugino and Zachary Quinto.

In other film news, Target was selling Men Who Stare at Goats for $10 last week.

May 23, 2010

Kevin is now the voice of KAYAK as well as the voice of Honda. Some have reported seeing his commercial while watching manly sporting shows on ESPN. I however came across it during an episode of Say Yes to the Dress.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is being re-released on DVD Tuesday, June 1st. It appears to be a repackaging of an earlier version but this time will be part of a Clint Eastwood collection. MGGE can be purchased as a separate DVD though. I've seen it advertised at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The descriptions at both places just say that there are subtitles, widescreen and full screen versions on the disc. The lovely new cover is very striking though, as you can see for yourself.

A few weeks ago, I received in the mail, a small note card from Kevin thanking me, his fans at Driving Mr. Spacey, the chat room fans, KevieBear and my sister for the annual Christmas card. I posted a tiny piece of the card at Twitpic since KevieBear was quite excited to see part of his name in Kevin's own handwriting.

April 1. 2010

These stories get weirder and weirder. Now the Old Vic has announced that they have taken legal action against a man who claims to be Kevin's son. He'd been seen lurking in the park near the theater and has tried to enter the theater while trying to catch Kevin when he was at work. The theater spokesman said that while he does look like Kevin, Kevin denies being even remotely related to the man and has said he'll take him to court and force a DNA test if he doesn't stop bothering Kevin and his friends and family. The official statement is here.

March 30, 2010

Kevin's picture was in this morning's Washington Post newspaper and this time they didn't use the picture of him with socialite poodle Campari. No sirree, they used a very tiny color headshot. And it even has his name under the picture this time!

The Washington Post, Style, page C2.

This Just In

Another long-awaited film - "Casino Jack," in which Kevin Spacey plays disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff - has found a distributor, Metropolitan Inc., which announced Monday that it will release the movie in theaters this fall, Variety Reports.

(I have just one small complaint. OK, more than one small complaint. First, Kevin's picture is smaller than the one used of that annoying Rod Blagojevich who is only shown because he's on Celebrity Apprentice and second, Kevin's picture is the only one from the paper which is not shown on the Post's online site. They have a large picture of Jack Abramoff instead. BTW - I was going to tear out the small item for posterity but decided that the entire page might be worth saving. I mean, how many times are we going to see Kevin Spacey on the same newspaper page as Kukla, Fran and Ollie? I won't even mention that K,F & O have a much larger picture and an entire article devoted to them.)

I was reading an online article the other day that was saying that a new Superman film was in the very early stages of pre-pre-production but no word on whether any of the actors from the previous film, such as say, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, will be asked to return to reprise their roles. His being in Superman Returns was the only reason I saw that one.

The Men Who Stare at Goats is now available on DVD and you can catch Kevin on the "making of" type thing on it.

March 29, 2010

Kevin has taken to Twitter and Facebook to refute the odd rumors that Kate Moss is going to be in a play at the Old Vic. This is not a joke.

March 12, 2010

London's Apollo Theatre will play host to a star-studded, one-off theatre show celebrating the world's tribes.

The evening will feature performance of tribal prose and poetry from some of the UK and Hollywood’s leading actors and musicians including Kevin Spacey, Julie Christie, Mackenzie Crook, Sinead Cusack, Colin Firth, Emilia Fox, Michael Gambon, Sophie Okonedo, Mark Rylance, Danny Sapani, John Sessions, Juliet Stevenson, Ken Stott, Zoe Wanamaker, and James Wilby. There will also be a performance by Bruce Dickinson, Jon Lord and Ian Paice.

This unique theatrical event is inspired by the words and images of tribal peoples featured in the recently published book ‘We Are One – a celebration of tribal peoples’ to mark the 40th anniversary of Survival International, the world's foremost tribal rights organization.

The event will be held on Sunday April 18th.

Thanks to Matthew of Survival International for the info.

January 17, 2010

Kevin tweeted on Twitter and posted to Facebook last night that he has been traveling to LA, NYC, London and will be heading to China soon.

There seems to be some question about whether he is really on Facebook and which Kevin Spacey on Facebook he really is. Yes, he is really on Facebook. He took over one of the fan-started Kevin Spacey's and is now that Kevin Spacey himself.

The real Kevin Spacey on Facebook

Watched Moon last night. I enjoyed it. The company that released it should have had a competition to get people into the theaters to see it when it was out. There could have been a fabulous prize for whoever correctly guessed how many times Kevin said the word "Sam". People would have been forced to see it more than once since they'd have forgotten they were counting.

January 16, 2010

Wow. I can't believe how long it's been since I updated the site! Let's see... Kevin's play ended. He went on vacation.

Moon is available on home video now. I rented it from Netflix. Gonna watch it tonight during the chat if anyone else wants to join me. 9pm EST in the chat room. Link on the map page. Entertainment Weekly says that Moon is probably going to become a cult classic.

I need a fantastic new picture for the entrance page. I'll have to go through my old magazines and find one. One of the (few) complaints that I receive about the current one is that it doesn't look like Kevin Spacey. I disagree. I think it does. Granted, it's a few years old but it's not like he's not recognizable in it.

November 11, 2009 Still haven't scanned the picture from last week and now will have to add the artsy drawing that accompanied the review in the Washington Post on Friday morning. The reviews have been mixed but the critic for Entertainment Weekly said that Kevin wore the worst hairpiece of his career in "Goats" which obviously means the critic never saw Edison.

Kevin told his Facebook followers that he quit smoking back in June. Congratulations and good luck with that, Kevin.

November 1, 2009 There is a picture of Kevin from the upcoming Men Who Stare at Goats in today's issue of the Washington Post Magazine. Color pic, page 53. I do take exception to the fact that the accompanying mini review says that the movie stars George Clooney, Ewan McGregor and Jeff Bridges. Kevin's name is only listed at the very bottom where it says who is in the picture. I'll scan it later today.

I recently noticed that I never changed the address for the polls when I switched host companies. I'll try to fix those this week. Maybe start a brand new poll.

October 24, 2009 Good grief, I had no idea it had been so long since I had updated the site!

I have been seeing TV commercials for Men Who Stare At Goats. Looks pretty funny. Kevin looks a bit like Hitler. I am guessing that this is part of the plot.

Kevin is currently in London performing in Inherit The Wind at the Old Vic Theatre. Unfortunately I won't be able to go to London to see it. Maybe he'll come back to the US and do another play here.

Tonight there will be a SHRINK movie chat at the site chat room. 9pm or thereabouts. I don't know if we'll be doing a special Halloween movie chat next week. Christmas seems to have come to all the stores around here already, so maybe The Ref would be appropriate for Halloween!

Driving Mr. Spacey! will be 9 years old on Monday. That is so hard to believe.

August 13, 2009  -  A few updates. We'll get to Kevin in a minute but first and more importantly, when I got home from work last week, mixed in with the junk mail and catalogs was an envelope addressed to me and the site. It had been metered at the Old Vic so you know what that means.

Spacey mail!

The handwriting was not Kevin's but I still didn't want to damage the envelope so I opened it with a knife. Inside was a small cream colored note card with "The Old Vic" embossed in silver in the corner and in glorious blue ink, a handwritten message from Kevin Spacey addressed to the fans whose names were on the annual DMS birthday card! Along with a thank you for his unique one-of-a-kind, only one like it in the world, secret message birthday tie. There was a paperclip indentation at the top and, oh, you probably want to see it for yourself. Here you go.

What a nice surprise. The writing is an interesting mix of caps and lower case, as someone told me. What that means I have no idea. I guess it was just an observation.

Now on to Kevin. SHRINK is in very limited release right now. If you can catch it in the theater, please do. If not, it's going to be released on DVD at the end of next month.

I'd read somewhere that a cast addition had been made to Inherit The Wind but it hasn't been posted on the Old Vic site yet and I can't recall the name. Someone will no doubt remind me.

This next is new - From the BBC Radio press office web site.

The Pickerskill Reports
Friday 28 August 1/4
11:30am-12noon BBC RADIO 4

Ian McDiarmid stars as Dr Henry Pickerskill, the retired English master of Haunchurst School for boys, in a new series of The Pickerskill Reports, which also features cameo performances from Kevin Spacey, Joss Ackland and Peter Bowles.

More info found at the following link. Scroll down the page to find it. Don't know which of the 4 eps kevin would be in. Thanks, redsman.

July 21, 2009 - Don't forget. Kevin will be on Letterman tonight and is scheduled for The View on Friday morning. TV listings indicate he's advertising Shrink which opens on Friday in NY and LA.

July 9, 2009 - Kevin is rumored to be on Letterman on July 21. Thanks to Joanne.

Kevin's birthday card and very special gift from the fans at Driving Mr. Spacey were mailed to him at the Old Vic a few days ago.

June 29, 2009 - Kevin is now filming in New Orleans.

I will be mailing the birthday card and very special gift on Monday. If you have sent me your name for the card, it has already been added. If you haven't, you have another week to do so.

June 7, 2009 - Ten years ago, Kevin was starring a Broadway production of The Iceman Cometh. This caused quite a sensation among his fans and many went to see him and then shared their experiences and photos with the rest of the fans at the message boards, fan sites and email groups.

I had tickets to see him the night after the Tony awards (for which he had been nominated) and we drove up to NYC on Sunday morning. You can read all about it here:

My trip to see Iceman in 1999

I hate looking at some of the early sections of the site. I see so many things that need to be done over and better!

June 6, 2009 - Kevin has announced that he has withdrawn from the Tony awards tomorrow night.

You can own one of Kevin's ties! Pictures are up and to the right!

Kevin signed and donated an Armani tie to be auctioned for charity. You can read about the organization and find a link to the auction here:

The auction ends June 14, 2009 at 11:59pm EST.

Don't ask me why but while some people have been able to access DMS today, others get nothing but a blank screen and an error message saying that Driving Mr. Spacey has been suspended. I'm trying to find out how it can be offline and online at the same time. Could it have something to do with DNS servers?

June 5, 2009 People tell me that everything was *not* working as the site was offline briefly last night. I hope this isn't going to be a recurring problem every time I update the site!

The site link for Kevin's upcoming Shrink movie:

The only thing there so far is a link for viewing the trailer which requires QuickTime 7 to view.

I've updated the Old Vic Theatre news page with a very brief bit of info on their new season. Link found in the black box above.

Kevin's been golfing for his current movie role. Golfing

I saw a commercial on BBC America last night for a new talk show starring Jonathan Ross. Perhaps Kevin may show up there some day in the future?

June 4, 2009 - I moved the site last week but was only offline for a brief time so many may not have realized the site had been moved. Everything seems to be working.

Kevin tweets that there will be an announcement tomorrow about the next season for the Old Vic. Kevin says he will be in the first play. More tomorrow! I guess I'll have to update the OV news page. It's uh, a few years out of date.

Kevin has been filming a movie in Canada but will be returning to the states to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our summer of love. More commonly known as "On Sunday, it will be exactly 10 years since I went to NYC to see Kevin in Iceman and watched the Tony awards on TV the night before."

If asked, he would no doubt tell you that he is going to be in NYC on Sunday night to present at the Tonys. It's all in the way you look at it!

I think CBS usually shows the Tony awards.

You can read all about the trip back in 1999 in the theatre section of the site.

*A bit of Spacey trivia - Kevin celebrated his 40th birthday at the end of the Iceman run back in 1999.

I am still adding names to his 50th birthday greeting card, so there's still time if anyone wants to add theirs.

May 24, 2009 - I've decided to wait until Tuesday to move the site. I decided a holiday weekend might not be the best time to be dealing with problems that arise from doing that!

Fans have asked me how to find Kevin on Twitter. He is here:

Kevin is currently filming Casino Jack and it has been announced that he will be doing Catalonia with Colin Firth. I don't know when that starts filming.

May 19, 2009 - I'm going to be moving the site on Sunday so it will probably be off the air for at least a few days afterwards.

This morning I was reading Kevin's tweets from last night and I was getting annoyed. Good thing tweets can't be long because it forced me to keep my own tweet to KS to the point. Or to one of the points anyway! It will probably get lost in the crush of tweets he gets but I hope he reads it if he comes across it.

I'm going to go mow the lawn before I get the urge to write an open letter to Kevin right here where I'm not limited to 140 characters only!

I wanted to let everyone who has so far sent their name in for inclusion on the annual birthday card, that I have their names.

May 14, 2009 - Liked Kevin's red socks last night when he was on Leno.

May 9, 2009 - Spacey fan Linda tells me that she read a snippet that says Kevin has left the William Morris Agency and will now be with Creative Artists Agency. If this is so, the WMA address will no longer be a valid address for writing to him.

May 6 - Spacey fan Linda tells me that Kevin is supposed to be on The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno next week on the 13th. This is also showing up on TV NOW.

The Norman Conquests have 7 nominations for the Tony Awards. Big Thanks to Kevin himself for tweeting everyone the news.

May 2, 2008 - KevieBear has a new look to his web site these days. Plus I've added a new (short) adventure there instead of to the site here.

Listen up Spacey fans. Kevin's birthday is in less than 3 months.

April 27, 2009 -

Kevin has been travelling around accepting various honors and awards. His trip to the Washington, D.C. area over the weekend for one honor didn't make the local DC paper, but there was the following snippet in today's Washington Post, The Reliable Source columns:

Kevin Spacey and a bunch of business types lunching Saturday on the patio at Stars restaurant on P Street, where he signed autographs and posed for pictures. The Academy Award winner is playing Jack Abramoff in a new biopic: he visited the convicted lobbyist Friday at Cumberland Federal Prison.

The snippet included a tiny b/w picture of Kevin next to a tiny picture of Abramoff looking like Charles Grodin in a fedora.

One item I read about the film is that it's title is to be 'Casino Jack' which is Abramoff's nickname.

Kevin's upcoming film 'Moon' got a brief mention in last week's Entertainment Weekly. No picture of Kevin accompanied the mention.

April 19, 2009 -

Kevin tweets that he's going to be on the Today show on Tuesday morning during the 8:30 hour which I presume to mean between 8:30 and 9am EST. Just a guess on my part.

I'm going to be making some changes to the site here and there as I have some time in the next 6 weeks in preparation for attempting the site without FP Extensions in June.

April 2, 2009 -

I never thought I could hate a commercial more than those astonishingly annoying "cavemen" commercials until I was watching TV one night recently and was bombarded with the most grating commercials I have ever been exposed to. They're for Comcast. You probably already know which ones I mean. They feature people and singing in a monotone. I kept having to mute the sound every time one came on. And to make the torture worse, they're even on the radio. I've been taking to turning off the car radio whenever one comes on and changing the channel when I'm watching TV. I'm not sure that's the effect they were going for!

Kevin tells us that he's going to be doing another film called Father of Invention. A Triggerstreet production.

April 1, 2009 - Announcement on the future of Driving Mr. Spacey! - As some of you know, my web host has informed me that as of July 1, the program that I use for the site will no longer work with their service. I'm looking at having to start DMS over from scratch due to the fact that the program I use is nearly obsolete and I'm having trouble finding a new web host that will be compatible. The site is very large and I don't know how to use any other program so to start over would be very time consuming. So sadly, I'm afraid that when my hosting agreement runs out in June, that may be the end of Driving Mr. Spacey!.

It's been a fantastic run of over 8 years but things come and go and times change. I'm sad that this all is happening just when Kevin is having a big birthday, but hey, them's the breaks. I've been trying to figure out what to do for his birthday this year and I have one idea. I've put it on another page. You can check it out and let me know what you think.

Birthday 2009

March 30, 2009 -

Do you TWITTER? As of yesterday, officially Kevin does. He had about 3300 followers at lunch time today. Kevin on Twitter

KevieBear is also on Twitter. He's very cutting edge as anyone will tell you.

New commercials Kevin may be the voice of Honda in the U.S. but he's now the face of American Airlines in the U.K.! You can see the commercials online here.

TV Spot Kevin will be on Tavis Smiley next week. Probably Monday the 6th. Check for the time in your area on the PBS web site. Thanks Molly.

March 11, 2009 -

Congratulations to Kevin - According to PLAYBILL, Kevin is going to be presented with the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's Monte Cristo Award in recognition of his distinguished accomplishments and contributions to the American and international theater community. April 26th in New York City. More at the following link.

Playbill News: Kevin Spacey to Receive Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's Monte Cristo Award

Movie Chat - Swimming With Sharks, a fan favorite. If you have the DVD with the commentary by Kevin, even better. Saturday night at 9pm in the site chat room.

March 2, 2009 -

I've been out of touch because my father had a double bypass earlier in the week but he's home now and doing very well and I've almost got enough energy to check the site mail. Or I will until I go outside and start shoveling all that snow we got last night and this morning! Hope to update the site this evening.

February 21, 2009 -

It's that time of year again. Time for me to make my Oscar predictions based on nothing due to the fact that I haven't seen any of the movies.

Actor in a Leading Role - They'll go for either Richard Jenkins for class and dignity or Mickey Rourke for a wild and crazy choice.

Actor in a Supporting Role - Oscar loves a dead man who gave his all for a role so I predict the late Heath Ledger.

Actress in a Leading Role - Everyone expects it will be Kate Winslet but I will say Melissa Leo. Am I the only one who remembers her from Homicide: Life on the Street?

Actress in a Supporting Role - Penelope Cruz because the Academy voters seem to like foreign actresses for this award. Amy Adams for a surprise twist.

Best Director - Everyone says it's going to be the director for Slumdog Millionaire so I predict the Academy voters will go for that Benjamin Button movie that no one I know had any interest in seeing.

Best Film - See Best Director prediction.

February 17,2009 -

Boy, I can't believe how far behind the news I am already this year! I guess I'll just have to start with new news.

Need a shrink? If you are on Facebook, you can be a fan of Kevin's new film SHRINK. Go here: SHRINK

They have some nice photos of Kevin to look at there even if you aren't a member.

*Disclaimer - I used a picture of Kevin holding KevieBear as my Facebook photo on the suggestion of Spacey fan Laura. I am NOT Kevin Spacey, got it?

Complicit In spite of some earlier problems, Kevin's new directorial effort Complicit is on at the Old Vic.

Old schedule page Yes, I do know that I haven't updated the schedule page in a while. Or the polls. I'll try to get to those this week some time.

February 14, 2009 -

Great news for chat fans! I finally removed the Christmas music and picture and movie chat schedule for December 13th off of the chat entrance page! Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh! Did I mention that KevieBear has a girlfriend? I'll introduce her to everyone in a few days.

January 6, 2009 -

#1 - Barcelona, Spain. February 16-20, 2009. Kevin will be appearing at GSMA's Mobile Film Festival as festival host and keynote speaker for the MOFILM Mobile Short Film Festival. Kevin will present the prize for the best short film of 5 minutes or less in length and will participate in an interview on February 19.

Chevrolet is the main sponsor but we won't tell Honda.

BTW - If you have a short film, they've extended their deadline. More info about the festival and a cute picture of Kevin can be found here:

Thanks to Matt for the info.

#2 - Spacey fan Laura shares the following Charlie Rose link with us. You can watch Kevin's old Charlie Rose interviews there. If you are a newer fan, you have a treat in store. If you're an older, er, fan of longer standing, they're still fun to watch again.

#3 - I don't know if Kevin has any plans to attend the Golden Globe awards. I think they are this coming Sunday.

December 31, 2008 -

Now that 2008 is winding down, I'm going to make my new year's resolution for 2009.

I will move 2008 to it's own pages in the archives, will start a new page for 2009 and will either update the polls or close the old ones and start a new one.

Happy 2009 Spacey fans!

December 13, 2008 -

Movie chat tonight. The Ref. 9pm EST.

Kevin has been nominated for a Golden Globe for his part in the movie Recount.

November 29, 2008 -

Movie chat tonight. Ordinary Decent Criminal. Next week will be Fred Claus and December 13 will see the return of everyone's favorite,  The Ref.

"Santa was mean to me."

November 22, 2008

I sat down last night to update the site what with all the current movie and theatre news as well as the polls that are backed up and I was going to add some pictures but I was sidetracked when I found out that the site was back and instead of updating the site I spent more than an hour elfing Kevin instead of myself and I was laughing so much that I got a headache and then was too tired to update the site. I sometimes wonder if Kevin finds himself to be as much fun as we do.

There is going to be a '21' movie chat tonight in the chat room. I've had the movie for months and this will be the first chance I've had to watch it. Anyone is welcome to come by, whether you have the movie or not.

I guess we'll have to schedule a 'The Ref' movie chat in a few weeks for the holidays. Maybe even a Fred Claus chat if anyone is brave enough to buy or rent the film.

1) My Kevin-detector must be malfunctioning! Kevin was only an hour away and I never felt a thing.

Today's Washington Post newspaper. Style section. Names & Faces column. Oddly no repeat of the picture of him with Campari, the jet-setting poodle:

End Notes - Spotted: Kevin Spacey (long-sleeved white shirt, gray slacks) sipping a soft drink at the Bar at the St. Regis yesterday.

2) I swore I wasn't going to post it but... Kevin Spacey is O-L-D-E-R than the newly elected president of the United States! Wow! How did that happen?

October 26, 2008

Happy Birthday Driving Mr. Spacey!

October 16, 2008

Kevin may or may not be in the next Superman installment that may or may not be made by Bryan Singer and may possibly be going in a new direction, possibly with a new Superman. Stay tuned for more details.

The new anniversary special edition multi-disc DVD of L.A. Confidential is not being sold at Target. At least the stores near my own home. This surprises me.

Kevin is still traveling the world going to film festivals. He was also recently in Puerto Rico filming his new movie with George Clooney, according to web reports.

I've gone ahead and put the Halloween entrance picture up that has been used over the past few years to either great response or accusations that it is evil. Personally, I like it.

Here's something surprising. I've updated a few polls! I must admit that many of the old poll responses were automatically deleted before I was able to use them due to the amount of time that had elapsed. I sincerely apologize.

Ten days from now will be the eighth anniversary of the start of Driving Mr. Spacey!. I'll be sure to remind you when the time comes.

I'll probably regret it but I have put the feedback form back up. Please don't spam me this time!

September 21, 2008

There will be a special Emmy night chat tonight in the Driving Mr. Spacey! chat room. We'll watch the telecast, wait for Kevin sightings (we hope he'll be there since he was nominated and so was Trigger Street) and talk about how badly everyone is dressed and how awful the celebrity banter is.

September 13, 2008

In the wee hours of this morning, I was having trouble sleeping and started watching a crime show on the ID (Investigation Discovery) channel. I dozed off near the end and woke up just after the next program started. The TV volume was turned down low but I thought the person talking sounded like Kevin Spacey. A few sentences later, it was very obviously Kevin Spacey. It was something I'd never seen before. A documentary called Uganda Rising. Kevin was the narrator. The ID channel's website has this description: A look at the dire situation in Uganda, centering on the internal conflict between rebel forces known as the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), the corrupt Ugandan government and the Acholi citizens, especially the children, who are caught in the crossfire.

They have it scheduled for another showing on September 26th at 6am.

September 12, 2008

Spacey fan Vivienne tells me that Telstar is going to be shown at the Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival next month on the 25th and 28th. Times can be found below.

Kevin is reported to have been signed to be in a new George Clooney film called The Men Who Stare At Goats. Filming is set to start next month.
